BANGKOK: The fifth-generation CR-V was the highlight at Honda's display area at the 2017 Bangkok Motor Show.
It is powered by a 1.6L i-DTEC Diesel Turbo engine for the first time with a Shift-by-Wire nine-speed automatic transmission, or a 2.4L DOHC i-VTEC engine with a CVT transmission.
The spacious cabin offers third-row seating with seven adjustable seats that offer various configuration options, and a Hands-free Power Tailgate.
The tailgate can be opened via a movement of your foot underneath the rear, when you stand behind the car.
Also, unlike the CR-V with the i-VTEC petrol engine which has a centrally mounted gear stick, the diesel-powered CR-V does not have a gear lever.
Instead, the diesel-powered CR-V has push buttons for P, N, R, D and S (sport mode) found on the centre console.
The new CR-V features LED headlights and tail lights, LED Daytime Running Lights, and new sporty-designed aluminum alloy wheels.
It has an air-conditioning system for both the 2nd and 3rd-row of seating, and piano black and wood center console trim.
Among the premium-grade features are an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with 4-way lumbar support and an i-dual-zone automatic air conditioner.
It also has a seven-inch Advanced Touch Audio Display that is Apple CarPlay compatible, and a TFT Meter with Multi-information Display.
The 1.6L i-DTEC 4-cylinder Diesel Turbo engine delivers 160hp at 4,000 rpm and maximum torque of 350Nm at 2,000 rpm.
It works together with a Shift by Wire nine-speed automatic transmission designed to offer good acceleration and exceptionally high fuel efficiency of 5.6 litres per 100km or 17.9km per litre on combined cycle.
The 2.4L DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine provides 173hp at 6,200 rpm and 224Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
Other features include a Driver Attention Monitor that alerts the driver on the TFT Meter and with a vibration alert through the steering wheel, Agile Handling Assist, Honda LaneWatch, Electric Parking Brake, and Automatic Brake Hold.
