Mazda CX-3

By CARSIFU | 19 August 2015

Going by its popularity worldwide, the Mazda CX-3 mini sport utility vehicle (SUV) looks set to be a winner in Malaysia and compete strongly against the likes of the Honda HR-V.

The CX-3 is expected to be offered with a 2.0-litre engine and priced from RM120,000 to RM130,000.

Featuring the “Kodo – Soul of Motion” styling, the CX-3 features a compact rear-leaning cabin, bold face, large wheels, side mouldings and high beltline.

Mazda’s Kodo – Soul of Motion design philosophy aims to capture the moment just before an athlete or animal launches into motion.

Mazda had unveiled its CX-3 at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Like all new Mazda models, the CX-3 has a driver-oriented interior with symmetrical pedals, optimally positioned gauges and controls, and top-class front shoulder and legroom.

Rear combination lamps stretch from the body into the liftgate with a shape echoing the headlamps.

Its 350-litre rear cargo room can be expanded to 1,260 litres with the rear seats folded.

Interior includes a free-standing seven-inch touchscreen display as well as a rotary commander on centre console designed to enable driver operation without taking their eyes off the road.

Features can also include Mazda’s MZD Connect smartphone connectivity system, with a seven-speaker Bose premium audio system and rear parking camera.

Drivers would like the lightweight electric power-assisted steering system, and the enhanced high-speed stability and comfort which are partly due to a refined MacPherson strut and rear torsion beam suspension.

Its SkyActiv chassis combines SUV advantages such as extra ground clearance and rough road capabilities with easy city driving.
