TAIPEI: An American design firm owned by BMW has teamed up with motherboard manufacturer ASRock to create a spectacular new PC for gamers, the M8, presented at the Computex show here.

Commissioned by ASRock, the PC with the tough-looking design is being described by its creators as the "ultimate gaming machine." The M8 project was entrusted to DesignworksUSA studio.

The M8 sports a sleek, partially transparent facade and can be positioned either horizontally or vertically.

Its large, multi-functional control knob is equipped with an OLED screen displaying a variety of information on the system.

The machine is customisable, allowing users to modify anything from the side panels to the cooling system.

While the specs of the M8 are not yet known, it could support a wireless internet connection of up to 867Mbps.

This is not the first foray into the PC design world for BMW, whose design firm already made waves in 2009 with its Thermaltake Level 10 M. – Relaxnews
