No panic buying of diesel, say petrol station operators

KUALA LUMPUR: The supply of diesel was reported to be affected at several petrol stations in the Klang Valley, Johor and Negri Sembilan on Thursday.

Petrol Station Operators Association chairman Datuk Hashim Othman said members of the association in the affected areas informed the association that their stations had ran out of diesel yesterday evening.

"Nonetheless the supply at stations along highways is still adequate," he said.

Hashim said supply might have been exhausted due to the stations having met their monthly quota for the fuel.

He said the situation had nothing to do with panic buying by consumers, especially in view of the 2013 Budget that would be tabled today.
