Apple iOS 11 gets even more relevant for drivers

PETALING JAYA: The latest update to the Apple iPhone operating system has a safety feature called “Do Not Disturb While Driving”.

This means that your iPhone can now detect when you are driving and automatically silence incoming notifications and alerts.

Users will also be able to send an auto reply to their favourite contacts to let them know that they are behind the wheel at the moment and cannot respond.

iOS 11 will roll out to developers today while the full version will be available in September.

Thanks to Star's resident tech guy Lee Kah Leng for this alert, which was featured as part of an article on seven highlights of iOS 11. The updated iOS was revealed at the June 5-9 Apple WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) in San Jose, California.
