BEIJING: Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new long-wheel base variant for the E-Class saloon at the Beijing Auto Show 2016.

"The two 12-inch displays in front are the largest screens in the segment. They are easily accessed via Touch Control buttons on the steering wheel," said Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service Co Ltd president and CEO Nicholas Speeks.

"Besides ample legroom, rear passengers can easily adjust the backrests of their seats. For more privacy and quietness in the rear compartment, we incorporated a third fixed window in the long-wheel base body design, inspired by our Mercedes Maybach S-Class."

Speeks also said the car marks a new milestone in autonomous driving, with features like DRIVE PILOT which allows the vehicle to follow cars ahead of it in stop-and-go traffic, and at speeds of up to 210kph.

"And with Remote Parking Pilot, it is the only car in the segment that can be parked from outside the car using a smartphone app - perfect for those tight parking spots."
