Beijing Auto Show (2016): Volkswagen T-Prime Concept GTE

BEIJING: Volkswagen had a world premiere of the T-Prime Concept GTE at the Beijing Auto show 2016.

The concept car shows a new Volkswagen approach to the premium SUV segment.

The T-Prime Concept GTE moves full-size SUV design to a new sporty and elegant level.

It has a plug-in hybrid drive with up to 280kW of system power and 700Nm of system torque.

Electric driving range is 50km, and fuel consumption is ess than 2.7 litres per 100km.

The T-Prime ConceptGTE accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and has a top speed of up to 224 km/h

It has an Active Info Display and infotainment system that merge under a sheet of transparent glass to become a Curved Interaction Area.

It is designed with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, and all-wheel drive.

The ethos of the T-Prime Concept GTE is that of an ideal and versatile alternative to classic vehicle concepts.

This SUV show car combines the best of many automotive worlds: comfortable like a saloon; spacious like an estate; offering traction that is superior to all other types of automobile; based on state-of-the-art chassis technology; agile like a sport saloon and – thanks to innovative drive technologies – efficient like a compact car.
