PETALING JAYA: A slight slip led to a luxury car crashing into a food court at Menara Millenium in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.

The 10.10am Friday incident occurred when the owner of a Bentley accidentally stepped on the accelerator while attempting to retrieve a parking access card, which had fallen on the floor of the vehicle.

The owner subsequently dismissed rumours that the accident was caused by Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil’s son who was said to be driving the car. The owner said he was alone in the car at the time of the incident.

According to City Traffic Investigation and Legal Affairs staff officer Deputy Supt Shafie Daud, no injuries were reported, as there were only a few people inside at the time.

He said that the case is being investigated for carelessness under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
