BMW X3 now locally assembled

CYBERJAYA: BMW Group Malaysia has introduced its new locally assembled BMW X3, in the form of an xDrive20i (petrol) and the xDrive20d (diesel).


On the road pricing without insurance for the X3 are RM328,800 and RM348,800 for the petrol and diesel variants respectively, which includes BMW Service + Repair Inclusive (BS+RI).


Externally, the BMW X3 has a newly-designed three-dimensional kidney grille at the front while flanked by a new pair of twin headlights with changed geometry, Integrated side mirrors indicators and 18-inich light alloy wheels in Y-Spoke (petrol) or double-spoke (diesel) as well as panoramic glass roof for the diesel variant.


The X3 now features the xLine equipment package as standard, which includes matt aluminium bumper inserts, aluminium steering wheel and trim panel accent lines as well as stainless steel loading sill protectors to name a few.

Under the hood of the xDrive20i is a turbocharged 2.0-Litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 182bhp from 5,000-6,250rpm and 270Nm of torque from 1,250-4,500rpm, while mated to an eight-speed steptronic transmission.


The X3 is capable of sprinting from 0-100kph in 8.2 seconds and onwards to top speed of 230kph while fuel efficiency is rated at 7.2L/100km and CO2 emissions at 168g/km on the combined cycle.


On the other hand, the xDrive20d uses a turbo-diesel 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 198bhp at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque from 1,750 – 2,500rpm – allowing it to perform the century sprint 0.1 seconds quicker at 8.1 seconds.


Fuel consumption is an impressive 5.2L/100km along with CO2 emissions of 138g/km on the combined cycle.


In addition, the X3 features the iDrive Touch Controller, a navigation system, the xDrive status display, the Comfort Access system - allowing access to the tailgate with a wiggle of the foot and a rearview camera (xDrive20d only).

Colour options for the X3 are Alpine White, Black Sapphire and Mineral Grey for the xDrive20d while the new BMW X3 xDrive20i features exclusive colour schemes in Space Grey and Sparkling Brown.


Both variants come with the option of Leather Nevada Mocha or Leather Nevada Black for interior upholstery.


The new premium SAVs from BMW Group Malaysia will be available at all BMW dealerships nationwide from Aug 23.
