With vested interests from Chinese truck maker Beiqi Foton, the company (since 1890) was revived in 2008 after it folded in 1963 - during Germany's brief recession, and has been selling its BX5 and BX7 SUV in China since last year.
This year, the Stuttgart-based company is back again, this time showing off its latest four-sliding-door 2+2 coupe - the Isabella concept, which gets its inspiration from the original model built from 1954 to 1962.
The styling of the concept by former MINI designer Anders Warming, incorporated the original Isabella's design line that runs over the rear wheel into the concept car.
Inside, the futuristic cabin lacks any buttons or knobs with only touchscreen technology being present.
In terms of powertrain, there's only rumours of an electric drive, but nothing has yet to be officially confirmed, though we doubt it'll sport a 1493cc 75hp four-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission.
