LOS ANGELES: Any car junkie out there would know of the Fast & Furious movie franchise that's managed to evolve its cast members from being mere rag-tag street racers into a group that somewhat resembles "The Expendables", only the action starts when they pick up the car keys instead of a weapon.

It's been fifteen years since the first installment and the movies have come a long way, starting from the humble beginnings of down-town Los Angeles, before travelling to Japan, Brazil and even the United Arab Emirates.

Fast & Furious 8 - Fast 8
This time around, for the upcoming eighth installment (with two more in queue due out in 2019 and 2021) of the movie, it will be taking place in a more colder and exotic location - Iceland.

Due for release on April 14, 2017, filming has obviously begun and the movie's Facebook page has revealed a gallery of images to give us all a first look at some of the vehicles that will be featured, most of which have been customised to take on snow and ice.

For Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his love for American muscle cars, he will be driving a bullet-riddled Dodge "Ice Charger", while Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez) gets an off-road Rally Fighter with studded tyres and Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) will helm an aggressive looking "Ice Ram" to name a few.

As for Tej Parker (Chris "Ludacris" Bridges) he'll be piloting the mean-looking Ripsaw, while Roman Pierce (Tyrese Gibson) gets what seems to be a standard Lamborghini - lets hope its got all-wheel-drive at the very least and it survives till the end of the show.

The movie is being directed by Straight Outta Compton's F. Gary Gray, with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and Jason Statham returning from the earlier films, while new to the cast and crew are Charlize Theron, Kurt Russell, Helen Mirren and Scott Eastwood (son of Clint Eastwood).

"We've written out story lines for various characters. We've been playing with it for a long time. It's a very rich property and we're committed to treating it with a lot of class," said Diesel.
