PARIS: A new survey from Citroen has revealed some interesting habits about what Europeans get up to in their cars.

Ahead of the Paris Motor Show, which takes place Oct 1-16, the car company released the results of their European survey, entitled "Our lives in cars."

Carried out in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Britain, the survey revealed that the average European spends 4 years and 1 month of their life in their car, and those who are driving almost every day will thank or wave to a whopping 10,056 people on the road.

It also showed that Europeans are partial to taking part in some "car karaoke," singing at the top of their voices in their cars 3,917 times, as well as completing more mundane tasks such as doing their hair, shaving or putting on their makeup in-car 1,234 times.

Perhaps to help speed up those "Are we there yet?" moments, they will also take part in a game 58 times, and "We'll be there soon" will be said 228 times.

Loved ones will make out in their cars 61 times, and perhaps as part of the making-up process, Europeans kiss 2,432 times and make love 4 times in their cars. Some countries are of particular note here, with the English and French making love around 3.4 times - compared with 8 times for Italians!

The study will also be highlighted in Citroën's upcoming campaign, "Citroën inspired by you."
