PETALING JAYA: Mohd Shafiq Saipollah, who visited the My Auto Fest show to get the best deal on a pick–up truck got more than he bargained for when he won a Nissan Almera.
Winning the Nissan Almera 1.5VL was an added bonus for Mohd Shafiq, who had booked a Ford Ranger at the Sime Darby Auto Connexion booth during the show, and registered it a week later.
“It’s unbelievable and a lovely surprise. I had no thoughts about winning the Nissan Almera when I filled in the booking form for the Ford Ranger,” said Mohd Shafiq, a 31-year-old engineer at the Police Air Wing unit of the RMAF base in Sungei Besi, Kuala Lumpur.
“Now there shall no longer be any arguments between my wife and me. She had wanted to buy a passenger car and I was looking out for a pick-up truck to help out my brother in his food truck business”.
The RM82,000 Almera with NISMO Aerokit was the grand prize in a “Buy a Car, Win a Car” lucky draw held at My Auto Fest.
Mohd Shafiq was presented the keys to his Almera at a prize-giving ceremony held at the Edaran Tan Chong Motor showroom in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, today.
Among those present were Malaysian Automotive Association president and organising chairman of the auto show, Datuk Aishah Ahmad and Edaran Tan Chong Motor executive director Datuk Dr Ang Bon Beng.
At the May 20-22 My Auto Fest held at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre, visitors had the opportunity to view over 100 new cars and scout for good deals.
