KUALA LUMPUR: If you are buying a Nissan car today, you will be offered a driving video recorder. The RM999 device is now available for the full Nissan line-up. Being an option, you don't have to buy it if you don't want to.

Featuring a 150° viewing angle, and an advanced 6-layer coating filter lens, it captures high-quality HD 1296 pixel videos, while its low light image sensors allows driver to record sharp videos in low-light conditions.

The device also comes with wireless smartphone connectivity that connects iOS or Android devices through an app that allows the driver to configure, stream, download and share their videos.

The device is easily mounted to a vehicle’s rear view mirror. It automatically turns on and starts recording when the engine starts up. Its built-in gravity sensor detects gravitational changes or impacts and instantly triggers the record mode in the event of a collision, sharp turning or emergency braking. It is backed by a warranty of three years or 100,000km, whichever comes first.

"We recognise that many car owners are moving into installing a video recorder as an accessory to help identify any incident along a journey, especially the cause of an accident. We at ETCM believe that we can meet this requirement with our introduction of the driving video recorder that is designed based on OEM requirements," Edaran Tan Chong Motor marketing and product planning director Tan Keng Meng.

In conjunction with the Nissan year-end campaign, Edaran Tan Chong Motor is offering new Almera customers the driving video recorder for just an extra RM1 (terms applied) on top of the current RM1 promotion to get either the NISMO Aerokit or a 6.5-inch display multimedia navigation system.

Edaran Tan Chong Motor has also launched its “Millionaire Drive” Campaign. Throughout this campaign, customers who buy and register their Nissan cars in the month of October will be in the running to win from a total of 2,000,000 AirAsia BIG Points. The first prize, second prize and third prize winners will go home with 300,000, 200,000, and 150,000 BIG Points respectively for flight trips to overseas and local destinations.

The distributor will also be holding a Nissan Test Drive Carnival offering a line-up of models for a test drive.
