SHAH ALAM: The Haval M4 is now known as the Haval M1.

The H1 looks the same as before when the SUV was introduced locally two years ago but prices have increased. Previously, the vehicle came in three variants of Standard, Premium and Comfort with prices ranging from RM49,740 to RM62,760.

Following the H1's "re-birth", it now comes in three trims. The entry-level Comfort is followed by the mid-range Premium before topping out with the Elite. Each is now priced on-the-road with GST and insurance at RM61,950, RM67,950 and 74,950 respectively. Sole distributor Go Auto unveiled the SUV here today.

The H1 also includes a seven-year warranty with the assurance of a "Buy Back Guarantee" - introduced earlier in this month, to ensure owners receive no less than 50% of a Haval's initial price when it is sold back to the company.

Furthermore, there are six colour choices of Titanium White, Sky Silver, Fashionable Orange, Pearl Black, Ocean Blue and Jazz Red.

Throughout the model-variants, the front-wheel driven H1 maintains use of a 1.5-litre VVT engine producing 105bhp at 6,000rpm and 138Nm of torque at 4,200rpm, which gets mated to a semi-automatic six-speed transmission.

The H1 was recently awarded the energy efficient vehicle from the International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI).

Dimensionally, it remains the same with a wheelbase of 2,383mm while measuring 3,961mm-long, 1,728mm-wide and 1,617mm-tall and rolls on the same 16-inch wheels with 205/60 series tyres.

The standard kit in the Comfort variant includes fabric seats, power windows all-round, leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with bluetooth and cruise control functions, 12V power outlet, reverse sensors, central locking and a MP5 double-DIN player with DVD playback.

Standard throughout all variants is the safety equipment - two airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, hill start assist, traction control and electronic stability control.

Moving to the Premium variant for RM6,000 more and there's now leather upholstered seats, a battery alert sensor, rear view mirror with integrated SmartTag module, reverse camera and navigation.

Add another RM7,000 for the Elite variant and a set of poly-elipse projector headlights, centre console arm rest, digital video recorder, daytime running lights and window tinting gets included.
