Higher prices for Mitsubishi cars

KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia will see price increases of 2% to 7%, depending on model, in the first quarter of 2016.

A statement by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) said this was due to the weakened ringgit.

MMM also said its pricing structure will be reviewed if the ringgit becomes stronger.

“Despite all adversities, rest assured that MMM will continue to offer attractive on-going deals and promotions for our customers,” said MMM chief executive officer Yang Won-Chul.

MMM is represented by 58 showrooms (out of which 49 are 3S Centres) and 53 service outlets throughout Malaysia.

Since 2005, MMM has sold more than 90,000 units of vehicles in Malaysia.

The ASX 2WD and 4WD compact SUV is locally assembled in Malaysia while the other Mitsubishi models are imported as CBU (Completely Built-Up) units from Thailand (compact hatchback Mirage, compact sedan Attrage, Pajero Sport SUV, Triton pick-ups) and Japan (Lancer).
