Kia Champ Into The Arena crowns Puchong Fuerza A as champions

KUALA LUMPUR: NAZA Kia Malaysia's futsal tournament – Kia Champ into the Arena, ended with Puchong Fuerza A being announced the champion out of the 63 men's contending teams, and will now have the honour to represent Malaysia at the upcoming international tournament in France.

The six-player team received an all-expense paid trip to Bordeaux, France for the international Kia Champ Into The Arena futsal championship on July 1, along with a total of RM19,000 in cash as well as a championship cup, medals and tickets to the quarter finals of EURO 2016.

Also going home with cash and goodies were first runner up silver-medallists M.A.C FC A with RM4,000 in cash, second runner up bronze medallists Raff MBC B won RM2,500 and third runner up bronze medalists Ally F.T won RM1,500.

As for the Women’s Open, it would be gold medallists Shardy FC who won RM2,000 in cash followed by first runner up REM FC with RM1,500 and bronze medals, while second runner up Power to Surprise claimed RM1,000 and bronze medals.

Additionally, Naza Kia Malaysia is also giving one lucky Malaysian customer who test-drives any Kia model a lucky draw coupon that will be automatically be entered into the contest for the opportunity to win an all-expense-paid trip to France to watch the Opening Match at EURO 2016. The winners will be announced in May, 2016.

Kia Champ into the Arena futsol competition, which is a global initiative by Kia Motors Corporation for Malaysians to experience and be a part of the excitement of EURO 2016.

Kia Champ Into the Arena was open to 87 teams via online registration starting early March 2016 with matches commencing on April 24 at the Sports Planet in Ampang.

The format of the tournament was on a group stage with 21 groups of 3 teams, with only the top two teams being able to move on to the knock-out stage – each game uses a seven-plus-seven minute format with a five minute foul limit for each half.

During the knock-out stage, in the event of a draw, an additional one minute and 30 seconds will be added and will be played on a golden gold basis, followed by penalty kicks.
