CALIFORNIA: Automobili Lamborghini unveiled its latest Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster in limited numbers during the Monterey Car week in California.

Deliveries of the roadster will begin in early 2016 priced from US$530,075.00 (RM2.2mil) and only 500 units will be produced worldwide.

The roadster is the first open-top Lamborghini to bear the Superveloce (SV) nameplate, which means it gets an extra 50hp at 750hp and weighs 50kg less at 1,575kg (dry) – translating to a power-to-weight ratio of 2.1kg/hp.

A unique aspect for the roadster is that it now features a power rear window that allows the noise from the 6.5-litre V12 engine to enter the cabin.

The roadster is equipped with a Haldex Generation IV 4WD system and has 750hp at 8,400rpm and 690Nm of torque that’s managed by a seven-speed ISR transmission, which means 0-100kph sprints take 2.9 seconds with a top speed of over 350kph.

Furthermore, the roadster comes with an adaptive Magneto Rheological Suspension combined with a pushrod damping system as well as Lamborghini’s Dynamic Steering (LDS) for better driving dynamics.

The SV Roadster also comes with a two-piece carbon fibre hardtop – each weighing less than 6kg, and can be stowed in the luggage compartment

“The Superveloce is the purest, most sports-oriented and fastest series production Lamborghini ever. The Roadster version represents our commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open air experience,” said Automobili Lamborghini president and CEO Stephan Winkelmann.
