PETALING JAYA: With the 10th-generation Civic due to launch next month, Honda Malaysia is cranking up the buzz machine by looking back at the Civic generations, using owner testimonials to lend some credibility.

One such owner who shared her car ownership experience was Lavonne Tan Ca-Men (pic).

Tan, 26, decided to buy the 8th-generation in 2008 as she was led to believe that it was a reliable car. She also wanted a car that was comfortable to drive and looked good. She said she found all these qualities in the Civic then.

“The moment the people at the Honda dealership in Jalan Ipoh (in Kuala Lumpur) told me the car was ready to be collected, I felt joy in finally owning the Civic. It was a memorable moment."

“Over the years, the Civic became family to me. It is a hardy car that goes the distance. It has never given me any major problems and my aftersales experience at the Jalan Ipoh dealership has been pleasant. They are accommodating and attentive to my needs. I love the exterior, the long dashboard and the speedometer of the Civic. Handling was exceptional."

An avid badminton player who also hits the gym regularly, Tan said her Civic was also part of her active lifestyle.

When asked to describe what Honda means to her in two words, Tan said: "Reliable drive!” That's an endorsement that should encourage more people to buy Honda cars. And Honda couldn't be happier.
