PETALING JAYA: The Lexus GS model-range has undergone a few changes, with the most significant being the replacement of the GS 250 with the GS 200t line-up that consists of the entry-level 200t Premium, mid-range 200t Luxury and the range-topping 200t F Sport.

The new GS 200t model range gets priced on-the-road with GST without insurance at RM439,200 for the GS 200t Premium, RM484,100 for the GS 200t Luxury and RM496,100 for the GS 200t F Sport.

Lexus GS 300h - 01
All Lexus vehicles come with a comprehensive factory warranty of three years or 100,000km, whichever comes first (the GS 300h battery pack gets covered by an eight-year warranty with unlimited mileage).

Under the hood lies the same engine found in the Lexus NX, a turbocharged 2.0-litre (8AR-FTS) engine delivering 241hp at 5,800rpm and 350Nm of torque from 1,650 to 4,400rpm – basically producing 17% more power and 38% more torque over the outgoing GS 250’s performance.

Lexus GS 200t - 08
The engine is mated to an eight-speed Sports Direct Shift transmission and manages power delivery to the rear wheels.

Along with the rest of the GS model line-up, changes include new triple L-shaped LED headlights (GS 200t Premium receives Bi-LED headlights), arrowhead daytime running lights and LED rear cluster lights.

Lexus GS - 09
Inside, the cabin gets a new dashboard, leather-wrapped gear knob, satin-plated interior door handles, leather-wrapped steering wheel centre pad and the inclusion of a Back and Enter button for the Remote Touch Interface knob on the centre tunnel.

In terms of safety, Lexus has added brake hold assist, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert (except for the GS 200t Premium).

Lexus GS - 07
As for the GS 350 with its 3.5-litre (2GR-FKS) V6 engine and the GS 300h hybrid with its Lexus Hybrid Drive 2.5-litre (2AR-FSE) engine, both power units remain unchanged, but do get a tweak for an improvement in fuel efficiency.

Seven colours are available for the GS range and depending on variant it includes Sonic Silver, Sonic Titanium, Black, White Nova Glass Flake (F Sport only), Red Mica Crystal Shine (new), Sonic Quartz (new) and Heat Blue Contrast Layering (new and for F Sport only).
