LONDON: The cost of carparks makes you grumble? The cost of London will make you humble. The mobility services website Ubeeqo has found the British capital has the most expensive parking in Europe, with an average price of 10.40 euros (RM47) per hour per space.

Using data from the online encyclopedia Parkopedia, it found hourly parking rates in major European cities vary widely.

Stockholm, Athens, Oslo and Milan round out the top five, with average rates of 5 euros to 8 euros per hour, making these cities rather expensive destinations for road trippers or rental-car holidaymakers.

Parking costs in Amsterdam, Paris, Munich and Rome range from 4.20 euros to 4.70 euros per hour, while an hour’s parking in Hamburg costs an average of 2.70 euros. According to Ubeeqo, Berlin comes in at a relatively reasonable 2 euros.

Even so, the most affordable parking on the continent can be found in eastern Europe, with comparatively low hourly rates in the major capitals of Budapest (1.60 euros), Prague (1.30 euros) and Warsaw (1 euros).

Parkopedia is a online platform focused on the theme of parking, currently with data on more than 6,300 cities in about 75 countries, which includes Malaysia. Check it out to see the price point for your own city.
