STUTTGART: In celebrating Mercedes-AMG's 50th anniversary this year, the tuning-arm of Mercedes-Benz is expanding a few model ranges with a special lineup of Edition 50 cars - all kitted up of course, and heading for the Geneva International Motor Show.

The list of cars to receive the Edition 50 badges (and their respective list of additional equipments) are the new AMG GT C Roadster, C 63 Cabriolet and C 63 S Cabriolet Ocean Blue Edition, C 43 4MATIC Coupé and Cabriolet Night Edition.

Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster Edition 50 - 05

Starting with the AMG GT C Roadster with a 557hp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, that's being limited to just 500 examples worldwide, it gets two special paint finishes in designo graphite grey magno or designo cashmere white magno.

There will be black chrome accents on the side-skirt trim, front splitter, Panamericana grille's air intakes, fins on the side air outlets in the front wings, rear diffuser and exhaust tailpipes, while the cross-spoke AMG forged wheels will match the accents in terms of finish.

The black AMG Performance steering wheel will be in DINAMICA microfibre with grey contrasting topstitching, 12 o'clock mark in silver pearl, "Edition 50" lettering and a note on the limitation.

Other added features such as the AMG Interior Night package includes steering wheel spokes, shift paddles and door sill panels in black, before finishing with silver seat belts, black chrome trim and the head restraints of the AMG Performance seats embossed with the words "GT Edition 50".

While utilising the same engine and displacement as the GT C Roadster, only playing to a different tune, the Ocean Blue Edition for the C 63 Cabriolet with 476hp and C 63 S Cabriolet with 510hp will be limited to 150 units.

Both cars will come in a new exclusive deep ocean blue colour for the soft-top roof and will be splashed onto the trim strips on the front and rear apron, surrounds on the hub caps, top stitching in the crystal grey interior and the IWC-designed analogue clock.

There will be two colour options of designo cashmere white magno and designo selenite grey magno for choice and will cover the A-Wing front apron, exterior mirror housings, side sill panels and the spoiler lip.

The AMG forged wheels in a cross-spoke design - 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear), will be painted in titanium grey.

Inside, it uses a light crystal grey theme with nappa leather and diamond quilting with deep ocean blue contrasting topstitching that's combined with matt silver glass fibre trim (high-gloss carbon fibre as a no-cost option) with the Edition badge in the centre console.

The flat-bottom black-rimmed steering wheel, also wrapped in nappa leather and accompanied by silver-coloured buttons, will be borrowed from the S 63 4MATIC Cabriolet.

As standard the seats will be fitted with the AIRSCARF neck-level heating and climatised seats with AMG badges in the backrests of the front seats and the embossed AMG emblems in the front head restraints.
