SUBANG JAYA: During the official launch of the locally-assembled Mercedes-Benz E-Class limousines - the E 200 and E 250 Avantgarde and Exclusive variants - members of the media was privy to a preview of the upcoming top-of-the-range E-Class, the E 350 e plug-in hybrid.

The E 350 e is due to be launched later this year and for those who want nothing but the range-topping variant will have to be a little patient as deliveries for this locally-assembled car is due sometime in the third quarter of this year.



While the exact price was not given, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia vice-president (sales and marketing, passenger cars) Mark Raine said it will priced just under RM400, 000.

The E 350 e will come equipped with the AMG Line exterior and interior featuring 19in AMG five-spoke wheels, Multibeam headlights and Airmatic suspension.



The car comes with the 2.0 litre engine producing 208hp and 350Nm of torque and the electric motor produces 87hp and 440Nm of torque.

In all-electric mode, the car has a range of 33km.

Other features include Nappa leather upholstery, preconditioning and the Burmester Surround Sound System.
