The two-night/three-day event saw participants driving various Mercedes-Benz SUVs such as the GLC 43, GLE 250, GLE 400 4MATIC and GLS 400 4MATIC.
Activities included water sports like jet ski, wakeboarding, catamaran and parasailing as well as a 140km round trip from Dalit Beach, Tuaran to Mount Kinabalu Park for a jungle hike.
We drove the new GLC 200, and found lots of grip from the Pirelli Scorpion Verde runflat tyres sized 235/55 R19 on slippery, rain-soaked roads thanks to the rainy season.

There's no 4MATIC all-wheel drive here, but when we experienced some slip as we accelerated on wet roads, the SUV's driver assistance systems responded quickly to keep us out of trouble.
There were many slow-moving trucks on the Jalan Ranau-Tamparuli route, but the snappy throttle response and responsive torque of the GLC 200 allowed us to do plenty of overtaking manoeuvres in bad weather conditions.
The steering was communicative and precise, and the brakes are firm, and these provided pin-point accuracy as we moved into gaps in road traffic.
In summary, the bad weather in Sabah was very conducive for the GLC 200 in showing off its premium SUV qualities.
