PETALING JAYA: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is maintaining its recording-breaking sales run in May, further strengthening its position as the leading premium brand in the Malaysian market.

Following the successful first four months of 2015, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia said it sold 1,143 units in May, an improvement of more than 100% from the 544 units in the same period last year.

Its president and CEO, Roland Folger, said the sound performance in all its vehicle model line-up due to a dynamic marketing strategy had contributed to the sales jump.

“As we further strengthen our leadership position in the luxury segment, our number one priority remains our customers’ satisfaction.

“Just as we continue to produce quality luxury passenger cars, we are focused on exceeding customer expectations,” Folger said in a statement.

Its luxury passenger car sales were spearheaded by the C-, E- and S-Class models, accounting for a total of 888 units in May.

Main contributors were the strong sales of the E300 BlueTEC Hybrid, which was launched in January, the C200 and S400L Hybrid.

The compact car family, comprising the new A-, and B-Class, CLA and GLA models, posted a total sales of 254 units in May.

Sales were led by the A-Class and the compact car family are now touring the country as part of the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Urban Hunting Campaign.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia delivered a total of 1,886 units in the first quarter of the year, followed by 932 units in April.
