New Honda Jazz is a popular buy

PETALING JAYA: The new 2017 Honda Jazz has received over 1,300 bookings within 2 weeks after its official launch on June 6.

This means the Jazz has exceeded its monthly sales target of 1,200 units.

About 40 per cent of the bookings were for the mid-grade Jazz E variant, while 28 and 32 per cent were for the entry-grade S and top-grade V variants respectively.

In terms of colour, Modern Steel Metallic was the most popular, followed by Lunar Silver Metallic.

Buyers tend to be upgraders, young executives and second vehicle purchasers.

The new Jazz is priced at RM74,800 (S variant); RM81,000 (E variant); RM88,400 (V variant) and RM87,500 (Sport Hybrid).

Meanwhile, deliveries of the Jazz Sport hybrid will be at end-July.

The conventional Jazz is still powered by a 1.5-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine with 120ps and 145Nm of torque, paired to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).

As for the Jazz Sport hybrid, it has a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle DOHC i-VTEC engine, paired to a seven-speed Dual-Clutch Drive (i-DCD) transmission.

Fuel economy for the Jazz hybrid is rated at four litres per 100km, and total hybrid system output is 137ps and 170Nm of torque.
