LOS ANGELES: Mazda is about to introduce the all-new Mazda CX-9 three-row midsize crossover SUV at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show even as pictures purportedly of the vehicle were leaked online.

The design doesn't look as dramatic as what Mazda's artist sketch depicts. The cabin is expected to follow design cues set by the Mazda6 and CX-5 and from what we can see in the pictures showing what is believed to be a prototype, it certainly looks luxurious with generous use of leather and what looks like a soft top dash.

Mazda said the 7-seater will incorporate the latest SKYACTIV technologies and represents a move towards a more premium design.

There's a possibility a 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine could be added to the existing four-potter range, replacing the 3.7-litre V6. As before, the CX-9 will be offered in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants.
