The new Peugeot 508 THP.
SHAH ALAM: The all-new Peugeot 508 sedan has been officially launched sporting fresh looks and is available in three variants the 508 turbo high pressure (THP) sedan, the 508 SW THP station wagon and 508 GT turbodiesel.
The estimated on-the-road price starts at RM175,000 for the THP; RM185,000 for the SW and RM205,000 for the GT.
The THP and SW THP comes with a 1.6 litre twin scroll turbo engine that produces 165PS and 240Nm of torque while the GT comes with a 2.2 turbodiesel HDI engine which outputs 206PS and 450Nm of torque.
All engines are mated to a six-speed auto adaptive gearbox featuring Tiptronic and Sport mode functionality.
The new 508 boasts an exterior design featuring a new vertically oriented front grille with the Peugeot lion right in the centre including a revamped, horizontal bonnet and redesigned bumpers.
Another eye-catching design element is the signature LED (light emitting diode) headlamps which gives the car an expressive apperance. There is also LED daytime running lights and LED fog lamp with cornering assist. The rear LED lights is just as impressive with its three ‘claws’ effect.
Inside, you will find a 7-inch HD multifunction touchscreen on the centre dash and controls for navigation, telephone, vehicle configuration, multimedia, driving aids, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and CD/MP3 player. It also comes with JBL HiFi 10 speakers with subwoofer, an Arkarmys 3D sound processor and Peugeot Jukebox.
Along with the elegantly designed two cluster instrument panel, the driver is also aided by the Head-Up Display screen which displays driving and navigation information in colour.
The 508 comes with intelligent keyless entry with push start, smart beam, automatic electric praking brake, automatic headlamp dipping, quad-zone automatic air conditioning, 8-way electric front seats with electric lumbar support, front and rear park assist and integrated reversing camera.
Safety-wise, the new 508 comes with six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP) featuring anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (EBA), anti-skid regulation (ASR) and dynamic stability control (DSC).
Other features include hill start assist, one touch power windows with anti-pinch and the Blind Spot Information System (BLISS) among others. It’s no wonder the new 508 earned a full five-star EURO NCAP rating.
The new 508 comes in five colours - Pearl White, Bourrasque Blue, Pine Brown, Artense Grey and Harla Grey.
It comes with a five-year warranty with unlimited mileage together with Nasim’s 24-hour Peugeot Assistance service, complimentary access to the Peugeot Lounge at Subang Airport and Peugeot Privilege membership.
