Passat Highline.

SHAH ALAM: The new Volkswagen Passat has finally arrived.

Available in three trim lines, the refreshed Passat is priced at RM159,990 for Trendline, RM179,990 for Comfortline and RM198,990 for Highline.

The Highline comes with 2.0L TSI turbocharged engine and a 6-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG), delivering an impressive output of 218hp and 350Nm of torque from 1,500rpm to 4,400rpm.

Under the bonnet of the Trendline and Comfortline is the 1.8L TSI turbocharged engine that is paired with an improved 7-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG).

This combination provides an output of 178hp, and a torque of 250Nm between 1,250rpm and 5,000rpm.



One of the most innovative cars in its class, the Highline variant comes with Active Info Display system, a full digital instrument cluster in place of the traditional instrumentation that is interactive and fully customisable. It's an idea borrowed from the digital cluster of the Audi TT.

The Passat Trendline does not have powered front seats. It gets a 5-inch touchscreen colour display, multi-function leather steering wheel, push start ignition button, front and rear parking sensors, electric parking brake with auto hold, driver alert system (Rest Assist), automatic lights and wipers, three-zone temperature control air-conditioning, and a multi-collision brake system.

As for the Passat Comfortline, additional or upgraded kit includes LED headlamps and daytime running lights, a 6.5-inch touchscreen with Mirrorlink, semi-autonomous Park Assist, 12—way powered front seats with memory and massage function for driver, "Vienna" partial leather seats, keyless access or entry, cruise control with speed limiter, Easy Opening tailgate, paddle shifters and rear view camera.



Meanwhile, the top-grade Passat Highline gets extra or upgraded kit such as XDS or electronic differential lock, DCC (dynamic chassis control), powered roll-up sunscreen for rear window, wood decorative inserts, GPS Navigation and Lane Assist.

The all-new Passat comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, and is available in seven colours – Pure White, Deep Black, Reflex Silver, Indium Grey, Crimson Red, Black Oak Brown and Harvard Blue.

The new Passat also comes with a free five-year service and maintenance package for units booked by the end of of 2016.
