Ning Baizura to sing national anthem at last F1 race

SEPANG: Local songstress Ning Baizura will sing the Negaraku at the final Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix today.

"It's a great honour for me to be singing the national anthem.

"I am thankful to the Formula 1 management team for choosing me to be a part of history," she told The Star on Saturday.

Ning said she was ecstatic when she learnt she had been selected.

"I just returned from overseas and am making my way to rehearsal. I will sing the Negaraku with pride and joy," she said.

The multi award-winning singer is famous for her dazzling live performances.

Ning will perform before the race begins on Sunday.

A special fly-by from four Royal Malaysia Air Force F-18 fighter jets will take place after the national anthem.
