ISKANDAR PUTERI: Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), the franchise holder of the Nissan brand in Malaysia, launched its nationwide Nissan Safety Campaign starting at Legoland Malaysia Resort.

The campaign looks to engage Nissan customers in raising safety awareness as well as enhance essential road safety skills and knowledge in two modules - Kids Safety Carnival ‘My First Safety Programme with Nissan’ and a Safety Driving Experience catered to adults.

The children's module is free of charge and is on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis, which teaches about traffic rules – to respect and obey them, to be observant of traffic around them for better safety and how to stay safe both in and out of the car.

Just for this year, parents have the opportunity to be involved in their children's learning by participating together with them in the modules.

A hands-on wheels session at the Nissan LEGOLAND Driving School allows children to drive in a true-to-life traffic circuit requiring them to steer pass several road signages, traffic lights and other drivers, in order to qualify for their very own personalised Nissan Legoland Driving School’s license.

ETCM intends to bring the Kids Safety Carnival to Nissan customers throughout Malaysia, followed by the Safety Driving Programme. The venues for each of the workshops have been tentatively set up as follows:

The Safety Driving Programme meant for adults will be held on Sept 24, however both venue and registration fees have yet to be confirmed.

“The safety of our customers and their families are very important to us, and with the increase number of road mishaps involving children, it is important that safety skills are well communicated through a fun and interactive way to encourage learning. After all, our younger generation is literally driving the future.” said ETCM sales and marketing director Christopher Tan.
