Okay, you can now refuel your cars at Shell stations

PETALING JAYA: Almost all of Shell Malaysia's stations nationwide have returned to full operations after a computer glitch at the company's central monitoring system crippled operations at 900 of its petrol stations.

As of 9.30am Tuesday, 800 Shell stations are fully operational while the remaining stations are still only able to accept cash transactions.

"We continue to work fast to remedy the technical issues at the remaining affected Shell stations.

"We regret the inconvenience caused and thank our customers and retailers for their continuous support," a Shell spokesman said in a statement Tuesday.

The Star Online reported Monday that the glitch resulted in motorists unable to fill up their tanks through credit card transactions.

The problem caused petrol pumps, which are linked to the system, to stop dispensing fuel at around 1am on Monday.

Only stations with the older version of the pumps, which are not linked directly to the system, were able to dispense fuel.
