Paris and London team up to fight pollution

PARIS: A new vehicle classification system is being introduced in Paris and London in an attempt to combat inner-city pollution.

The measures will see cars scored according to their real-world levels of exhaust emitted while in motion, allowing for more transparency for consumers.

The move is the result of a working partnership between Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, and Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London.

Both cities have taken steps to improve air quality, with Paris banning cars from the banks of the Seine and London planning a new ‘emissions surcharge' for vehicles that fail to meet minimum standards.
