Perodua Bezza - full specs

RAWANG: The new Perodua Bezza sedan is expected to be a hot seller, with the national automaker aiming for 15,000 monthly bookings.

There are five variants, priced on-the-road at RM37,300 (1.0L manual): RM39,300 (1.0L auto): RM42,800 (1.3L manual): RM44,800 (1.3L auto Premium) and RM50,800 (1.3L auto Advance).

It has a 5-year or 150,000km (whichever comes first) warranty.

Tyres are sized 175/65 with 14-inch rims.

Boot capacity is a huge 508 litres, and there are 8 plus 1 seating and storage configurations with a 60:40 split-folding rear seat with trunk pass-through feature.

Each front seat-back has a "da pao (takeaway)" hook and a storage pocket, and a anti-theft “handbag hook” is on the front passenger seat.

The Bezza comes as standard with dual front airbags, ABS (anti-lock brake system) and EBD (electronic brake force distribution).

Also standard are ISOFIX child seat anchors and top tether, and Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for driver only.

Only the top-of-the-range 1.3L auto Advance variant gets dual front SBR and vehicle stability control (VSC), traction control, regenerative braking system, hill start assist, and a multimedia system with navigation, Smart Link for Android smartphones, and a reverse camera.

Also exclusive to the 1.3L auto Advance variant is a fuel-saving technology called eco-idle, where the engine is automatically shut down and restarted at traffic lights or during standstill in traffic congestion.

All 1.3L variants get a wiper speed link-to-vehicle-speed feature.

The Bezza is powered by new 1.0-litre three-cylinder and 1.3-litre four-cylinder engines.

These are improved and more powerful and fuel economical engines, compared with those in the Perodua Axia and Myvi.

The 1.0-litre engine has VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing - intelligence), while the 1.3-litre has dual VVT-i.

Perodua claims fuel consumption can be miserly, ranging from 21km per litre (1.3L auto Premium) to 22.8km per litre (1.0L manual).

The Bezza also has a low kerb weight, ranging from 865kg (1.0L manual) to 930kg (1.3L auto Advance).
