Peugeot sponsors 298 cars for Kuala Lumpur 2017

SHAH ALAM: Nasim Sdn Bhd is providing a record 298 fleet cars consisting of the Peugeot 408 and 508 saloons, and Traveller multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) to Kuala Lumpur 2017 (29th Southeast Asian Games and the 9th Asean Para Games).

Peugeot is the official car Platinum sponsor for Kuala Lumpur 2017.

Nasim, a member of Naza Corp Holdings and official distributor of Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia, marked the sponsorship with a fleet handover ceremony at the Peugeot showroom in Glenmarie, Shah Alam.

"We hope that these 298 cars would deliver prestige, quality and a spectacular passenger experience for all at Kuala Lumpur 2017," said Naza Corp Holdings group executive chairman SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin.

"Naza's theme of Driving Champions (#DrivingChampions) signifies our proud efforts to be part of the nation's history and ambition to be champions of Kuala Lumpur 2017."

Also present was Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, who said, "We are proud to have Naza and Peugeot as a Platinum sponsor of Kuala Lumpur 2017."

Peugeot also launched the pledge car - the 208 - which will be used as the vehicle to unify the nation in support of our Malaysian athletes at Kuala Lumpur 2017.

Khairy had the honour of placing his signature first on the pledge car, followed by SM Nasarudin, Datuk Wira SM Faisal SM Nasimuddin who is also Naza Corp Holdings group executive chairman, and SM Faliq SM Nasimuddin who is deputy executive chairman of Naza TTDI Group.

"The Naza and Peugeot Pledge car are a call to the nation to come forward and BangkitBersama to show their support by signing messages of support to our athletes as a collective nation. This car will be touring the country and will be parked at specific locations nationwide to gather the support of Malaysians," said Naza Corp Holdings group chief operating officer (automotive group) Datuk Samson Anand George.

Naza and Peugeot are also offering 100 free tickets for 50 lucky winners to watch the opening ceremony of Kuala Lumpur 2017 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on August 19.

In order to be in contention for the free tickets, all fans need to do is take a picture with the pledge car with a message or caption and include #PeugeotMalaysia, #DrivingChampions and #NazaCorp when they post on social media.

The Southeast Asian Games will take place from August 19 to 30, followed by the Asean Para Games from September 17 to 23.
