Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT), the T-GDI petrol engined powertrain delivers 177ps at 5,500rpm and a maximum torque of 265Nm from 1,500 to 4,500rpm.
It shares the same potent powertrain with the Hyundai Veloster Turbo, which we have test driven before.
Although the power output here is tuned lower (177ps on the Tucson and 186ps on the Veloster Turbo), it is worth noting that this is still more powerful than a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated car.
In our review of the Veloster Turbo, we found there’s plenty of “go” from the pedal when demanded, and quick power delivery from the refined 7-speed dual clutch transmission (7DCT).
