SUBANG JAYA: Proton collaborates with Petronas to help reduce ownership costs with an exclusive range of Syntium SE (Service at Edar) lubricants.

The lubricants, consisting of mineral-based Syntium 500 SE (15W-40), semi-synthetic Syntium 800 SE (10W-30) and fully-synthetic Syntium 3000 SE (5W-30), can only be used - and are only made available at all Proton authorised service centres.

The aim of the tie-up is to help Proton owners realise a lower cost of ownership, since all Proton vehicles now have a service interval of 10,000km.

"The exclusive range of engine oils for Proton cars is specially formulated with CoolTech technology that helps defend against excessive heat, keeping engines performing optimally," said Petronas Lubricants Marketing CEO Zubair Abdul Razak.

In addition, Proton CEO Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali said that the local car maker will be increasing the number of seven-days a week service centres from 23 to 27 outlets by year-end to cater to the growing demand for their vehicles.

Meanwhile, customers are able to book a service slot via the company's MyProton mobile application - available on iOS and Android platforms.

Furthermore, the company has managed to streamline its parts prices for over 600 items in its recent price-review exercise to help make them more competitive and provide better value.

"With the introduction of the Petronas Syntium SE exclusive range of engine oils, Proton customers are able to enjoy better value whenever they service their cars at any Proton authorised service centres. In addition, they will have better experience in terms of car performance at improved maintenance costs," said Fuaad.
