SHAH ALAM: Proton today launched a 35th anniversary Saga that's limited to just 1,100 examples.

Based on the 1.3-litre Premium AT variant, the Saga Anniversary Edition is priced at RM39,300 (on-the-road without insurance or sales tax) -  without the sales tax rebate, the car would cost an additional RM500.

The first Saga was launched on July 9, 1985.

The Saga Anniversary Edition comes in black paint that's accented by yellow external wing mirrors.

The yellow colour is also found on the strips of the front upper grille garnish and rear bumper garnish.

Sporty gunmetal grey alloy wheels differentiate this Saga from the regular ones.

Inside the cabin, the yellow stripes are applied on the air conditioning vents, centre console as well as the pair of rings that make up the rev-counter and speedometer in the instrument cluster (with staging).

Also included is an N95 cabin filter that filters out 95% of particles down to 0.3 microns and 98% of PM2.5 dust particles, which includes smoke particulates, dust, bacteria and other airborne pollutants.

Existing Saga owners can buy the filter for RM50.15 but after Oct 9, the price increases to RM59.

The package is priced at RM2,035 but if bought separately, it would cost RM815 more at RM2,350.
