PARIS: Renault has teamed up with outdoor cooking guru DJ BBQ to offer festival-goers a feast of “catertainment”.

The new partnership will see DJ BBQ, aka Christian Stevenson, visit some of this summer’s essential festivals in a one-off Renault Master, where he will serve up his trademark signature dishes to the backdrop of thumping beats and shooting flames!

A star of Jamie Oliver’s Food Tube television channel and with a lifelong passion for barbequing and music, the latter including a career as a professional radio DJ, DJ BBQ is renowned for his fun-filled take on outdoor cooking. Using its extensive conversion experience and crafted with the same imagination that DJ BBQ demonstrates in his unique style of cooking, Renault has created the “catertainment” vehicle for the innovative chef.

Based on the Renault Master Chassis Cab that forms the backbone for many of the brand’s LCV conversions that are either completed at the factory or by Renault-accredited convertors, the DJ BBQ “catertainment” vehicle features a fully equipped kitchen, DJ and sound system and even an in-built pyro technic display. Highlights of the unique Renault Master include a 24-inch griddle, an electric rise speaker box on the roof and vertical exhaust flame throwers.

Through the two-year partnership, DJ BBQ will take the bespoke Renault Master on tour to many of Britain’s festivals and will also support Renault at its own events, offering visitors a truly memorable catering and entertainment experience.

On the modified Renault Master, DJ BBQ said: “I think it’s the best thing since steak! No one has ever done anything like this before – it’s a total one-off and we’ve got the loudest catering van in history, the sound system is better than most music stages!"
