The French-made helmets not only meet ECE22.05 (Europe) and DOT (United States Department of Transportation) standards, but have been known to surpass them, while achieving a maximum rating of five-stars by independent helmet testers Sharp (Safety Helmet Assessment and Rating Programme) in the United Kingdom.
First appearing in 2007, Shark's EvoLine range has become of the most sought after modular helmets by providing riders with the option of riding in either full or open-face mode with the chinbar fully integrated at the rear of the helmet.
Estimated to cost RM2,100, the EvoLine Pro Carbon has an integrated drop-down sun shield as standard and now utilises a carbon fibre outer shell, while the internal lining is bamboo-based for its antibacterial, hypoallergenic and perspiration absorption properties.
The modular helmet has been awarded a five-star rating from Sharp and now weighs 1,610g, making it 105g lighter than last year's EvoLine series3 modular helmet with a Lexan Polycarbonate shell.
The Speed-R series2 (rated four-stars by Sharp) is second only to Shark's range-topping Race-R Pro helmets, which has been specifically designed to appeal to naked-bike riders with a its carbon fibre shell (1,370g) or original version (1,450g).
Standard features include a pinlock Maxvision film, bamboo-based interior lining, internal sun visor and a rear double airblade spoiler, among others.
As for the Shark Vancore (estimated at RM1,100), it builds on the popularity of last year's Raw open-face helmet with a protective facemask that's coupled with an aggressive urban styling.
This year, the 1,250g Vancore borrows some styling cues from the Raw, but now comes with a permanent chinbar, while offering a more compact fit towards the face and requiring a different approach to donning this particular helmet.
Features of the Vancore includes a micro-lock buckle system, bamboo-based internal lining and a goggle that's been provided with a quick-release system, double anti-fog treatment and an anti-scratch screen from Carl Zeiss.
All three Shark helmets are capable of being fitted with Sharktooth (Bluetooth) within the interior lining and all Shark helmets come with a five-year warranty.
In addition, Winmaster also took the opportunity to introduce more products from two French companies, the first being Furygan, which specialises in both race and casual riding gear that predominantly utilises D30 protective armour.
The second brand, Bagster (full range available by March 2015), is an internationally renown brand for its design and manufacturing of saddle equipment, including seats and tank covers for both motorcycles and scooters sold internationally.
"We are proud to be associated with these exceptional brands that possess such outstanding abilities in their respective fields to keep riders safe, stylish and ultimately satisfied," said Winmaster development manager Ron Tan.
