SEPANG: Toyota has opened a “store in a mall” concept as a new initiative to better engage with customers.

By blending into the everyday lives of people, the new store in Mitsui Outlet Park in Sepang, one of the largest outlet malls in Southeast Asia, hopes to promote brand interaction with customers on a more emotional level, in a relaxed, upmarket environment.

Toyota models, such as the Vios and Hilux, can be viewed at the new store.

For a limited period only, shoppers at the outlet have a chance to view a racing Toyota 86 model.

The race-tuned 86 is the same car that competed in last year’s Merdeka Endurance Race and will be competing in the Malaysia Championship Series 2015.

UMW Toyota Motor president Datuk Ismet Suki said the company’s presence in one of Southeast Asia’s largest outlet malls represented a new approach to better engage customers and to maintain the company’s No. 1 position in the JD Power Sales Satisfaction Index.

In keeping with the store’s ‘Garage and Motorsports’ theme, TRD merchandise items are also available.
