Volkswagen’s 'Biggest Angpow of the year' goes to ...

KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen Passengers Cars Malaysia (VPCM) ened its Chinese New Year campaign after presenting the “Biggest Angpow (red-pakcet) of the Year” of RM66,888 to a lucky new Volkswagen owner.

The 53-year old Syed Mohammed Sohaimi from Kuantan, qualified for the promotion after buying a Vento 1.2 TSI.

“I am very surprised and grateful for this win as I did not expect it all. When I test drove the car, I immediately felt the difference. I plan to use the money and take my family to perform Umrah, so thank you Volkswagen - I am now a fan,” said Syed Mohammed.

The campaign ran from the Jan 1 to Feb 15, and customers who bought a Volkswagen vehicle during this period stood a chance to win an angpow packet of RM66,888.

Additionally, all customers who bought a Volkswagen during the promotion period were also be rewarded with cash-back "angpows" ranging from RM388 up to RM1,288.

The locally-assembled Vento is availble in three trims - the entry-level Trendline (RM80,655), mid-range Comfortline (RM87,655) and the range-topping Highline (RM94,620), along with a five-year warranty with unlimited mileage.

It is available in Candy White, Flash Red, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel Grey or Deep Black, while two engine choices powering the front wheels round off the choices.

Both Trendline and Comfortline get a familiar 1.6-litre (1,598cc) multi-point injection engine producing 105PS at 5,250rpm and 153Nm of torque at 3,800rpm and is mated to a six-speed automatic,

The range-topping Highline gets a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox instead and is married to the more potent 1.2-litre (1,197cc) turbocharged TSI engine with 105PS at 5,000rpm and 175Nm (23Nm more) from 1,550 to 4,100rpm.
