SHAH ALAM: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today launched the limited edition 60th Merdeka Edition Beetle during its inaugural Volkswagen Fest 2017 at the Setia City Convention Centre.

With only 16 units available, the iconic model sports the number '60' on its hood and sides - much like the Herbie Beetle, while being priced from RM136,888 with Pure White and White Silver for colour options.

Among the list of goodies are a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, 5.8-inch touchscreen Composition Colour with USB, Bluetooth and eight-speakers and ‘Pepita’ fabric upholstery for the seats.

Each new 60th Merdeka Edition also comes with a free limited edition Beetle suitcase and 60-months road tax to accompany the the standard five-year warranty.

Under its hood is the zippy 1.2-litre turbocharged TSI engine that's mated to a seven-speed DSG which manages the 105PS and 175Nm output.

The Volkswagen Fest is where the general public is able to view the Jetta ALLSTAR and the 60th Merdeka Edition Beetle for the first time,” said VPCM managing director Erik Winter.
