KUALA LUMPUR: The limited edition Volkswagen Beetle Club was first previewed during the recent Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2015 held at the up-market Pavilion shopping centre and now it’s getting its official debut.

The new Beetle Club comes fully imported from Mexico and will only come draped in Habanero Orange with only 50 units being brought in and each will be priced from RM152,888.

To help it stand out are its exclusive aesthetics that include a set of 17-inch Ravenna wheels, “Club” lettering and chrome side sills.

Inside, the sports seats are upholstered in ‘Club’-exclusive Vienna leather with orange stitching and accents, while the steering wheel now features the ‘Club’ lettering too.

The Beetle Club uses the familiar seven-speed DSG gearbox that’s mated to a 1.2-litre turbocharged TSI engine producing 104bhp at 5,000rpm and 175Nm of torque from 1,500 to 4,100rpm.

“Since its arrival on Malaysian shores 60 years ago, the Volkswagen Beetle has preserved its reputation of being an iconic car. We seek to constantly excite our fans by bringing these limited editions to them,” said Volkswagen Group Malaysia managing director Armin Keller.

Also on display was the Jetta Club, priced from RM122,888, previously launched in May that featured a multi-media headunit with navigation and window tint.
