KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) will be organizing a Volkswagen Driving Experience this weekend at Angsana Johor Bahru Mall from Oct 15 to 16.

The activity will be conducted at the mall’s open air carpark A, over five sessions each day from 12.00pm to 7.30pm and is absolutely free of charge to members of the public with a valid driver’s license on a first-come-first-served basis.

While utilising the Vento for the activity, participants will be exposed to the basics of car safety and driving skills, which includes proper sitting and steering wheel position, emergency braking, defensive driving skills and a slalom course.

Furthermore, a Vento stunt show will be on hand to thrill the audience during the event.

The recently launched Vento (Wind in Italian and Portugese) is locally assembled and is available in three trims while being priced on the road with GST without insurance at RM80,655 for the entry-level Trendline, RM87,655 for the mid-range Comfortline and RM94,620 for the range-topping Highline. A five-year warranty with unlimited mileage is included.

Both Trendline and Comfortline variants get a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre (1,598cc) multi-point injection engine producing 105PS at 5,250rpm and 153Nm of torque at 3,800rpm and is mated to a six-speed automatic.

On the other hand, the range-topping Highline gets a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox mated to the more potent 1.2-litre (1,197cc) turbocharged TSI engine, which produces 105PS at 5,000rpm and 175Nm (23Nm more) from 1,550 to 4,100rpm.

Additionally, the Vento has a 5-star rating by Asean NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) for its crash performance and range of safety features.
