SHAH ALAM: The new third-generation Proton Saga has arrived in four variants which consist of,

Standard Manual - RM36,800, Standard CVT - RM39,800, Executive CVT - RM42,800 & Premium CVT - RM45,800.

All on-the-road prices includes GST and insurance.

Competing directly with the Perodua Bezza, the new Proton Saga is offered in six colour choices of Fire Red, Cotton White, Topaz Blue, Sterling Silver, Midnight Black and Metal Grey.

The continuously variable transmission manages the 11% more efficient 1.3-litre VVT (variable valve timing) engine, which produces 94hp and 120Nm of torque for the front wheels.

The new Proton Saga now not only gets itself an ASEAN NCAP Asean NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian Countries) crash rating of five stars, but also sports a 420-litre (+7 litres) boot, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, front MacPherson struts and rear torsion beam.

Other notable mentions include rear fog lamps, front parking sensors, two rear USB charging ports, a single DIN audio unit with MP3, Bluetooth and a USB port as well as ISOFIX child seat anchor points and an Eco Drive Assist indicator to help drive more efficiently.

And, depending on variant, the Proton Saga also comes equipped with anti-lock braking system, brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold assist, a reverse camera that's displayed in the rear view mirror, window tints, steering wheel controls and a larger audio unit.
