KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn Bhd finally unveiled the Yamaha NVX here, following a sneak preview during the 2016 Malaysian MotoGP event.

Launched with the theme “Revolution in Innovation”, the NVX is intended to take the automatic segment of the Malaysian two-wheeler market to the next level.

The scooter’s 155cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine is liquid-cooled, and comes with variable valve actuation (VVA) to offer a lively response to make both city and long distance riding a breeze.

“Other neat features to look out for in the NVX include 14-inch rims with wide tubeless tyres, a 25-litre under seat storage compartment, twin LED headlights, as well as LED taillight and brake light,” said Khor, who added that ABS is standard equipment.

The NVX is also designed with a more sporty outlook in mind, through its sharp bodywork and graphics. “The NVX is equipped with a 5.8 inch (14.7cm) LCD display which shows the tachometer, speedometer, VVA indicator, and odometer.

Above that, its other premium attributes include a smart key system, and an engine start/stop system for better fuel efficiency,” Khor added.

Priced at RM10,500 including GST, the NVX is targeted at Malaysians who want a mid-sized stylish automatic bike with state-of-the-art features previously only found on larger capacity motorcycles.
