Five things CarSifu likes about the Mercedes-Benz GLE

By RIZAL JOHAN | 14 January 2016

1. The look
The revised exterior styling, designed by the good people at performance-minded Mercedes-AMG, will make anyone stand up and notice this vehicle. Its brawny and muscular presence with chrome skid plates attached to the front and rear bumpers means this car ain’t no pushover.

2. The cabin
Step inside the newly revised cabin and there’s no mistaking the luxury and style the GLE400 exudes. This review unit is covered in leather and dark wood trim which gives it a sense of stealth. Most importantly, it’s comfortable and quiet.

3. The safety
Customer safety is always on the mind of Mercedes-Benz which is why it comes standard with its radar-based system which will warn you if a collision is imminent and even brake for you with its Collision Prevention Assist Plus. And that’s not all, the Pre Safe feature will even tighten the seat belt, close the windows and sunroof to better protect its occupants moments before collision. This is simply priceless.

4. The cupholders
Really? Cupholders? What’s so fancy about that? Well, the cupholders in the centre console keeps your drinks warmer or cooler at the touch of a button. Not your average upholder, huh?

5. The puddle lamps
This light is situated underneath the wing mirrors and lights up when you are getting in and out of the car. While this is a common feature, this lamp is like a reverse Bat-signal, illuminating the ground with its laurel-wreath Mercedes-Benz logo, which first appeared in 1926.
