SUBANG JAYA: Bookings have opened for the all-electric smart #5 SUV (sport utility vehicle) which comes in two variants, namely Premium and Brabus.
Customers can book the smart #5 with a RM2,000 booking fee via the Hello smart app, available on Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery, or the smart Malaysia website.
The Premium variant offers a rear-wheel drive experience, can sprint from 0-100kph in 6.5 seconds, and has a 100kWh battery with up to 590km (WLTP) range.
It supports 800V architecture, 22kW AC charging, and 400kW DC fast charging.
The Brabus variant, meanwhile, launches from 0–100kph in just 3.8 seconds, and adds dual-motor all-wheel drive, Launch Mode, and a specially tuned Brabus driving sound experience.
The Brabus variant comes with Dinamica microfibre seats, red brake callipers, and 21-inch Brabus Monoblock Z wheels.
Themed "Contemporary Adventurer", the smart #5 has a distinctive bold boxy silhouette, and is engineered to deliver a dynamic driving experience while offering the versatility needed for modern lifestyles.
Inside, highlights include the soft-touch Nappa leather that covers over 90% of the interior, oak wood trims (unique in its class) and a tie-clip inspired dashboard.
There are also a 1.7 sq metre panoramic glass roof with a powered sunshade, and an onboard chiller located at the centre armrest storage.
The soundproof double-layered glass ensures your cabin stays quiet and calm inside.
Also, the smart #5 offers three configurable bed modes, front seat ventilation and a one-button comfort mode for rear passengers.
The smart #5 also has 34 cleverly placed storage spaces, a 1,530-litre rear trunk, and a 72-litre frunk.
As for infotainment, there are dual 13-inch OLED screens, a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display, AMD V2000 automotive-grade chipset, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and an enhanced ChatGPT-powered smart avatar named LEO, which can help to navigate, connect, and control the car.
Meanwhile, the Sennheiser 20-speaker system with Dolby Atmos and auto-lift centre speaker with ambient lighting deliver an immersive audio experience.
The smart #5 achieved a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, receiving the highest overall safety score of any large SUV tested in 2025.
It boasts of 42,000Nm torsional strength with 82% high-strength steel, seven airbags, Smart Pilot Assist including Highway Pilot Assist (HWA) and a Stop & Go function to provide automated driving on highways and a 360-degree camera system for all-round awareness.
There are nine drive modes including five just for off-roading, and a double wishbone and multi-link suspension for a much more refined ride.
“With its rugged design, long-range capability, and intelligent features, the smart #5 is built to future-proof every journey,” said smart Malaysia CEO Zhang Qiang.
The smart #5 is offered in four colours for Premium and three colours for Brabus.
