2017 Detroit auto show: Genesis G80 3.3T Sport coming

DETROIT: Genesis - Hyundai's luxury brand, is adding a new 'Sport' trim to its popular G80 model to bring about the 3.3T Sport that features a new powerful 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 engine as well as other sporty goodies.

The luxury brand from Korea has allowed a few details of the Genesis G80 3.3T Sport to leak during its debut at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, following which it is scheduled to arrive in markets around the second quarter of this year.



The 3.3T Sport will differentiate itself by wearing 19-inch dark alloy wheels, possess carbon fibre interior trim, leather sports seats and steering wheel, aluminum sport pedals and the full-LED headlights with dynamic bending light to name a few.

Under the hood lies a 3.3-litre direct-injected, twin-turbo V6 engine that punches out 365hp at 6,000rpm and 510Nm of torque from 1,300 to 4,500rpm.

A sport-tuned 8-speed automatic transmission manages engine power before sending it to either a rear-wheel or all-wheel drive system.

Inside, there's a wireless device charging (Qi standard) pad, 9.2-inch touchscreen navigation system with a DIS multimedia controller and a 17-speaker sound system paired to a Lexicon Premium Sound System that includes QuantumLogic Surround Sound and Clari-Fi music restoration technology.



It also receives upgraded sports suspension system - particularly a continuous damping control suspension system, to take on ride and handling duties, while kitted with safety items such as automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, driver attention alert and a multi-view camera.

The vehicle will also feature the brand's Genesis Connected Services for seamless connectivity directly into the car with technology like Destination Search powered by Google, Car Finder, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, and Stolen Vehicle Recovery.
